Work orders

You use the Condition Monitoring application to create work orders that will correct alarm conditions.

When you generate a work order, one of the following actions may occur:

  • A work order hierarchy may be created.
  • The default safety plans are copied to the work orders.
  • The measurement point number may be copied to a work plan operation.

Preventive maintenance work orders

If the preventive maintenance record displayed on the Condition Monitoring tab is part of a hierarchy, generate work orders for the entire preventive maintenance hierarchy when you initiate the work order generation process. Generate work orders for preventive maintenance records before and after the preventive maintenance in the hierarchy. The work order listed in the History table is the one generated for the preventive maintenance in the PM field when you use the Generate Work Order option.

Default safety plans are copied to work orders depending on the asset and on the location shown on the Condition Monitoring tab. Default safety plans are also copied to the job plan associated with the preventive maintenance work orders on the Condition Monitoring tab.

Meter readings are copied to the work plans for the work order, under certain circumstances. When you generate preventive maintenance work orders using the Condition Monitoring tab, the same fields are updated in the preventive maintenance record as are updated when you generate work orders from within the Preventive Maintenance application.
