Status of work assignments

In the Assignment Manager application, the status indicates the position of a work assignment within the work process flow.

The following statuses are used for work assignments:
WAITASGN
When a work assignment is created, the status is set to waiting for assignment.
ASSIGN
This status indicates that the assignment was assigned to a labor code. If you delete the labor code for this assignment, the status reverts to waiting for assignment.
STARTED
This status indicates that the laborer has begun work on the assignment and actual labor transactions can be recorded. A laborer can start assigned work assignments only. The status of the work order is changed to in progress.
INTERPT
This status indicates that an assignment that was started was interrupted before complete. Based on your preferences settings, actual labor transactions can be posted.
COMPLETE
This status indicates that the work assignment is complete. After all assignments on a work order are completed, the work order is either closed or completed, depending on your parameter settings. If the work order is closed, the assignments for that work order are deleted and the status of the work order is set to close. If the work order is completed, the status of the work order is changed to complete. Based on your preferences settings, actual labor transactions can be posted.

Unplanned work orders can have work assignments without a status. After you assign the work assignment to a labor code, an assignment with a status of assigned is created.
