Preventive maintenance alert information
The PM Alert message is a system-generated message that notifies you of pending preventive maintenance work when an asset is being repaired or a work order is generated against a location.
The PM Alert message helps reduce downtime by letting you perform upcoming routine maintenance while performing non-routine repairs. In order for the PM Alert message to be displayed, the preventive maintenance must have its Alert check box selected and the site must be set up to display alerts.
When a corrective maintenance work order reaches the status specified in PM Options in the Organizations application and the asset or location has pending preventive maintenance, then the PM Alert window displays when either of the following criteria is met:
- The system date is on or after the Estimated Next Due Date minus the Alert Lead. For example, if the system date is May 25, and the Estimated Next Due Date is June 1 and the Alert Lead is 10 days, the PM Alert message displays. The message displays from May 23 through June 1.
- The current meter reading for the asset or the location is greater than the Next Meter Reading projection minus the Alert Lead. For example, if the last meter reading for the asset was 975 units, and the Next Meter Reading is 1,000 units and the Alert Lead is 50 units, the PM Alert message displays. The message displays when the meter reading is at least 950.
