Direct issue items and services for job plans

Stocked or non-stocked items that are associated with a job plan can be direct issue items. Direct issue items are issued immediately upon receipt to an asset, location, or work order, rather than being stocked in a storeroom.

Services are always direct issue items.

When you add a service or classify an item as direct issue, the following events occur:

  • For the item or service, the values in the Vendor field and Vendor Description field for the primary vendor are populated.
  • The direct issue status of the item or service is copied to the work plan that is created from this job plan. When the work order is approved and a user selects the Reorder > Reorder Direct Issue Itms/Svcs action in the Inventory application, a purchase requisition is generated for this item or service. The item or service is issued without being received in inventory.

If you do not use the direct issue option for an item, that item is not automatically reordered, even when the reorder action is run.
