Adding qualifications to job plans

Add qualifications to job plans to specify the qualifications needed to do the work .

Before you begin

Before you add qualifications to your job plans, you must complete the following tasks.
  • Create qualifications and the certificate requirements for the qualifications in the Qualifications application. A license or a certificate often indicates a qualification, which signifies proficiency in a skill.
  • Add qualification information to your labor in the Labor application.

About this task

Add qualification requirements to your job plans. Then you can add the job plan to the work order during which the data and requirements in the job plan transfer to the work order. Complete the following steps to add qualifications to job plans.

Procedure

  1. In the Work Order Tracking application, create a work order.
  2. In the Job Details section, in the Job Plan field, click the Detail Menu icon and select Go To > Job Plans.
  3. In the Job Plans application, open a job plan.
  4. On the Job Plan tab, click the Qualifications icon.
    The Qualification Requirements dialog is displayed.
  5. Add qualification requirements.
    1. For each qualification that you want to add, click the New Row icon.
    2. In the Quaificiation field, specify a value.
    3. In the Exception Type field, specify a value. Use the search icon to see the list of exception types.
    4. After you enter your qualification requirements, click OK.
  6. On the Job Plan tab, scroll down to the Labor subtab and add rows for planned labor.
    1. Click the New Row icon.
    2. In the Details section, enter values in the fields that you need, such as the Organization field, Craft field, and Hours field.
    3. Click the Qualifications icon. The Resource Qualification Requirements dialog is displayed. In the dialog, use the qualifications that are specified by the job plan or specify other qualifications.
    4. Click OK.
  7. Set the status of the Job Plan to Active.
    1. In the Job Plan, go to Common Actions.
    2. Select Change Status and the Change Status dialog displays.
    3. In the dialog, from the menu for the New Status field, select the value Active
    4. Click OK.
  8. To return to the work order, click Return With Value.
  9. In the work order, click Save. The qualification details from the job plan are saved in the work order.
  10. Scroll down to the Scheduling Information section. In the Qualifications field, view the qualification entry.
  11. Set Qualifications Required to on or off.
  12. Enter the values for scheduled start and scheduled finish.
  13. Click the Plans tab and in the Labor section, view the qualification details from the job plan.
  14. Click the Assignments tab, add a row for an assignment, and assign labor. After you assign your labor, click Save.
    If you assign a labor record that does not have the necessary qualifications, then you get an error message and the Qualification Met field has a value of either N/A or None. If you assign a labor record that does have the necessary qualification, then the Qualification Met field has a value of FULLY.

What to do next

Add the job plan to a work order. Then the data and requirements in the job plan transfer to the work order.

After you add qualifications to job plans and work orders, you can validate the qualification level of resources when you assign resources to work orders. Also, you see the following behaviors in other applications.
  • In Graphical Assignment and Graphical Work Week applications, when you drag an assignment, an error message is displayed if the resource qualification does not meet the resource qualification requirement.
  • On the Scheduling dashboard and the Dispatching dashboard, the optimization models manage the resource qualification requirements and the resource qualifications, so the qualification requirement status is not displayed on the dashboards.
