Reliability Strategies

In Reliability Strategies, you can access a library of asset-specific failure details and mitigation activities. Developed by industry and domain experts, the library contains hundreds of assets and tens of thousands of possible failures across all known operating contexts. In Maximo® Manage 9.0, you can also create your own custom strategies that reflect your organization's reliability studies and maintenance practices.

Before you begin

Note: Reliability Strategies in Maximo Manage may only be used with, and requires the acquisition of, separately licensed maintenance strategy library data. For additional terms and agreement information for the maintenance strategy library, see the service description.

In Maximo Manage 8.11, you must configure Reliability Strategies by creating an end point and creating an object structure route. After you configure Reliability Strategies, to enable user access to Reliability Strategies, add users to the RELIABILITYSTRATEGIES security group. For more information, see Configuring Reliability Strategies.

In Maximo Manage 9.0, you do not need to complete any configuration. To enable user access to Reliability Strategies and its various features, add users to one of the following security groups:
Table 1. Reliability Strategies security groups
Security group Description
RELIABILITYSTRATEGIES Users can access Reliability Strategies and the strategy library.
STRATEGYBUILDER Users can access Reliability Strategies and the strategy library. Users can also create custom strategies, add tasks to track the implementation of the strategy, and view completed strategies.
STRATEGYIMPLEMENTER Users can access Reliability Strategies and the strategy library. Users can also add tasks to track the implementation of the strategy and view completed strategies. Users cannot edit or create strategies.
STRATEGYVIEWER Users can access Reliability Strategies and the strategy library. Users can also view completed strategies. Users cannot edit strategies, create strategies, or add tasks to track the implementation of the strategy.
The other security groups that the user is a part of can affect the data that the user can view and access in Reliability Strategies. For example, if the user has access to assets only at a certain site, users can add tasks for only those assets.
