Enhancements for administrators

Configurable image upload compression
Maximo Mobile now includes configurable image compression to help optimize network usage and synchronization performance.

Administrators can control how image attachments are handled before upload from mobile devices:

  • Enable or disable image compression for mobile image attachments.
  • Set a default upload quality that is applied when users attach images.
  • Allow user override so mobile users can choose to upload a full‑resolution image when required.

By configuring these options, administrators can reduce network data consumption and synchronization times while still supporting business scenarios that require high‑resolution images. For more information, see Configuring image upload quality.

Refresh data options
In the Mobile configuration application of Maximo Manage, the options for default data sync settings have changed. You can now select Reload all data - Replace everything with the latest, Update recent changes - sync only what is new, or Do not download. For more information, see Refreshing data.
Push notification enhancements
You can avail preconfigured push notifications to send alerts to technicians for priority work orders, accessing work order details through deep link, and labor assignments. The notifications and user subscription configurations are provisioned by default to minimize manual setup.

For more information, see Provisioning default notifications for priority work.

You can configure the Token life extension setting that provisions the number of days a push notification token is active since a Maximo Mobile user's last login to a device.

For more information, see Configuring notification token life extension settings.

Deep link notifications templates in Manage require this format maximomobile://techmobile?wonum=:wonum&siteid=:siteid&orgid=:orgid#workOrderDetails to navigate to work order details or maximomobile://techmobile#createworkorder >maximomobile://techmobile#createworkorder to create a new work order.

Enhancements for technicians

Stay informed when working offline
You can now see when Maximo Mobile is disconnected from the server. The app persistently indicates the disconnected state so you always know that you are working with local data when you do not have internet access, a VPN issue, or a server outage. Any work that you do while disconnected is saved on your device and automatically synchronized when connectivity is restored. You are also guided to reconnect so that you know that your updates are synced at the right time.
Improved visibility and accuracy of location meter readings
Asset managers and technicians now have improved visibility into location‑based meter readings captured directly from the field using Maximo Mobile.

Field technicians can view, verify, and update meter readings for locations while on site, ensuring that meter data reflects actual field conditions. Meter readings that are entered or updated offline in the mobile app, automatically sync with Maximo Manage when connectivity is restored.

This enhancement helps asset managers:

  • Ensure accurate and timely meter data for monitoring asset performance.
  • Reduce manual data entry, paperwork, and rework caused by delayed or incorrect readings.
  • Improve operational efficiency by enabling real‑time data capture from the field.
Refresh data options
The refresh data options in the Record data options screen have changed. You can now select Reload all data, Update recent changes, or Do not download. For more information, see Refreshing data.
Configurable work log types
When you tap the Work log icon for a work order, all existing work logs are displayed in an ungrouped format, with the most recent entry appearing at the bottom of the list. For a work log entry, the labor name is displayed at the top with the day of the week and date appearing at the bottom.
Approvals app integrated with Technician app
The functionalities of the Approvals app is integrated as a separate view in the Technician app. Supervisors with appropriate permissions can access this view and use the Approve button to approve work.
Report actual costs for materials in a work order
In the Report work page of a work order, in the Materials Used section, you can tap the plus icon to add a material as an actual cost. It is possible to add material description, quantity, and unit cost. You can also add items with quantity and unit cost but these are saved as Item line type.

Calibration enhancements for technicians

Ability to view uncertainty fields
As a calibration technician, you can now view calibration uncertainty fields in the Maximo Mobile app at the data sheet level or asset function level while executing a calibration work order.
Enhancements to failure reporting
As a calibration technician, you can now specify whether an instrument was used after its calibration expiration, immediate action taken, and whether the instrument was used after correction.
Functional check and dynamic check statuses
For a calibration work order, when the functional check status is set to manual, you can see a list of statuses at the data sheet level and at the asset function in Maximo Manage. The statuses are:
  • ACTION
  • ADJREQD
  • ADJTOIMP
  • BROKEN
  • FAIL
  • INSPECT
  • LIMITED USE
  • MISSING
However, the possibility of the statuses is only PASS and FAIL. Therefore, when you do a manual selection, it does not save the work order. It considers the calculated status only and you cannot do a manual selection in the Maximo Mobile app.

Enhancements for storeroom clerks

Return items to inventory
Storeroom clerks can now return previously issued items to inventory. In the Issues and transfers app, they can search for the list of items to return by using barcode or QR code search and filter the items by item number, description, work order number, material request number, asset or location, and others. They can return multiple items through a single process and create, edit, save, and reopen an inventory usage record for the list of items being returned.
