Status of configuration item types

The status of a configuration item type determines whether actual configuration items associated with that type are imported into the Actual Configuration Items application.

A configuration item type can have one of the following statuses:

• New - This status applies to all configuration item types when you import them into the CI Types application. Actual configuration items that are associated with a configuration item type with a status of new are not imported. After you activate or deactivate a new configuration item type, you cannot change the status back to new.
• Active - Actual configuration items that are associated with a configuration item type with a status of active are imported.
• Inactive- Actual configuration items that are associated with a configuration item type with a status of inactive are not imported.

In the CI Types application, you use the Change Status action to change the status of a configuration item type.
