Assets
Assets are the resources that you maintain and repair, such as equipment, machinery, or technology. To view, add, or edit asset information, use the Assets page in the Manage Assets Work Center.
After you enter the initial details for an asset, essential information about the asset is displayed on a card on the Assets page. When you select a card, you can add, review, and edit the following information:
- A unique name and a description that identify the asset
- Location of the asset. If necessary, you can move the asset to a new site when you specify a location.
- A type to group assets that are similar so that you can search for any asset in that category. When you specify a type, you can add or edit asset types.
- Status to indicate whether the asset is not ready, active, or decommissioned
- Serial number
- Priority
- Failure class. When you specify a failure class, you can also go to the Failure Codes application to manage failure classes.
- Rotating item if the asset is associated with a rotating item
- Files or images that are attached to the asset record
- Parent asset
- A list of child assets that are related to the asset
- A history of the work orders that are associated with the asset
