Changing the status of service items

The status of a service item can help you implement and enforce policies related to record creation and modification. You can change the status of a service item and apply that change to its dependent records.

Procedure

  1. In the Service Items application, select the service item for which you want to change the status.
  2. Click Change Status. The statuses that are available depend on the status of the service item.
  3. Optional: If you want the system to pass the status change to dependent records, select the Roll New Status to Organizations check box. By default, this check box is not selected unless you choose obsolete status.
  4. Click OK to change the status.
