Specifying values

In addition to typing a value in a field, you can select single or multiple values, or you can go to other applications to retrieve values.

You perform the following actions to select values:

Select a value from a list of valid values Click the Select value button next to the field. In an asset, the Type, Bin, Condition Code, Usage, Calendar, and Shift fields have a select value button.
Find a value by using classifications
  1. Click the Detail Menu button and select Classification.
  2. Click the value you want to insert.
In an asset, the Parent, Location, and Rotating Item fields have a Detail Menu button with a Classification option.
Find a value in another application
  1. Click the Detail Menu button and select Go To application_name.
  2. Select the value you want to insert.
  3. Click Return With Value.
In an asset, the Location, Rotating Item, Failure Class, Vendor, Manufacturer, and PO fields have a Detail Menu button with an option to go to another application.
You can define data as the default in any table that has a default data section. Values you enter as default table data are used as field defaults when you insert new rows into the table.
