Work order cancellation when a forecast exists
When you cancel a work order for a preventive maintenance (PM) record for which a forecast exists, the cancellation can affect the forecasted dates.
If you cancel the last generated work record on a PM that contains a forecast, the forecast is updated to include the deleted instance. If you cancel any other work record in the forecast (other than the last one), the forecast is not updated.
For example, a PM forecast is created for a PM record that has scheduled dates of January 21, February 21, March 21, and April 21. Three work orders are generated for January, February, and March. The forecast is updated, deleting the January, February, and March dates from the forecast (because actual work records were created). If you cancel the March 21 work record, the forecast is updated to include March 21, and now includes two forecast dates: March 21 and April 21. However, if you then cancel the January 21 work record, no changes are made to the forecast, and only the April 21 forecast date remains.
