Creating preloaded data for mobile using siteid and language

You can create a preloaded database that contains all supporting data to save mobile application users time when they are onboarding.

About this task

Starting with Maximo® Mobile v9.1, you can create a cron task that creates the preloaded database that includes the data for all lookup data sources that are defined in Maximo Mobile applications. Preloaded data can be distributed to users assigned to specific sites, or language.

Procedure

  1. Log in as an administrator and create a user.
This user is the template user that is used by Maximo Mobile to create the preloaded database. The cron task queries that are used to retrieve the data to load in the database are sent by the template user.
  2. Define a default insert site for the user.
  3. Assign the user to any standard groups that are used by your organization.
  4. Open the Cron Task Setup application, search for the MobileDbGeneration cron task and then click to configure it.
  5. Click New Row to create a new instance for the MobileDbGeneration cron task and then name it and.give it a long description.
  6. From the Parameters section, configure the PageSize, ThreadCount, and EmailTo parameters.
  7. Configure SiteIDList and LangCodeList parameters by passing a comma-separated list of siteids and language codes respectively.
  8. Specify the schedule for the cron task, mark it as active, and then enter the template user in the Run as User field.

Results

Whenever the cron task runs, the preloaded databases are created and stored in the Maximo database.
