In the Warranty Contracts application, you can manage warranty contracts by specifying the service type and duration of the warranty contract.
About this task
You can only add contract lines to contracts that are in a status of draft, pending revision, or waiting on approval.
Procedure
- In the Warranty Contracts application, select the contract for which you want to specify the service type and duration.
- Click the Contract Lines tab.
- In the Contract Lines table window, click New Row.
- Select one of the following values for line type:

If the line type is for a service, provide a description. Service is the default value. |
Standard Service |
If the line type is for a standard service, specify a value in the Item field. |
- Optional: If the payment schedule property is selected on the Properties tab, specify the extended cost or lump sum cost of the line in the Line Cost field.
- Specify values for the duration and time unit.
The Time Unit field works with the Duration field.
For example, to set the duration to one year, enter 1 in the Duration field, and specify years in the Time Unit field.
- Optional: Provide additional contract line information.
- In the Meter Lines for Contract Line table window, click New Row.
The contract line number changes with the contract line that you selected.
- Specify values for the measure unit and the duration.
- Save your changes.
