Creating notification events

You create notification events to notify users of asset and work order information by way of email, SMS, or a Work Center notification.

About this task

Note: Starting from Maximo® Application Suite 9.0 and Maximo Manage 9.0, all work centers are no longer available. The documentation provided for work centers applies only to Maximo Manage 8.7 and earlier versions. Try using Maximo Mobile, for more information see Maximo Mobile Overview
The Maximo Manage Notifications application is used to configure notification events based on object structures. Events consist of a set of conditions for a specific Maximo business object which is the root object of the object structure. If event conditions are met, the event occurs. Event messages can be configured as a message template from the Notification Message Template dialog. Users can subscribe themselves to an event. Alternatively, a system administrator can subscribe a user to an event. Use the Notification User Subscription dialog in the Notifications application to manage subscriptions..

  2. In the Notifications application, click Create Notification.
  3. In the Notification field, specify a value.
  4. In the Object Structure field, specify an object structure.
