Condition codes overview
Condition codes track the value of items in your inventory.
Condition codes are expressed in percentages. The new condition indicates
that the value is worth 100% of its value.
Condition rates
Condition rates signify the value of an item, and are expressed as a percentage. A condition code of NEW equates to 100 percent as the condition rate, while a condition code of FAIR might have 50 percent as the condition rate. For each condition-enabled item, one condition code must have a full-value rate of 100%.
Condition-enabled items
A condition-enabled item has a value or worth you want to assign and track based on its physical condition. You can apply different rates to an item as its condition changes from use, such as from new to used. When you create an item in the Item Master application, you can select the Condition Enabled check box if you plan to apply one or more conditions to the item.
Types of enablement
The condition of an item is specified using the Condition Enabled field of the Item Master application. When you categorize an item as being condition-enabled, the value is based on the physical condition of that item. You use the Condition Codes application to apply one or more condition codes to items. Items that are not classified based on their condition do not have condition codes attached to them.
Item sets
Item sets let multiple organizations within a company view and choose from a common set of items stocked in the storeroom. An organization can be associated with only one item set. However, multiple organizations can use the same item set.
