Creating start and end features

Not all work zones can be identified using absolute measures. Most maintenance workers identify work zones using start and end reference points. Reference points are simply features that have been identified as reference points.

1. In the Features application, create a feature.
2. Select the Is Reference Point check box.
3. Save the feature.

What to do next

If you are working on city streets, you can also create reference points automatically by identifying a relationship as a reference point. When you apply that relationship, then both linear assets in the relationship will have a feature created that can be used subsequently to define work zones.
