Creating and downloading vector tile packages

You can create vector tile packages for offline mobile devices.

Before you begin

You must have a .vtpk file available to upload to Maximo® Manage. This file that contains map vector tile data and graphic style resources. You can create a .vtpk file with the Package Toolset of the ArcGIS Data Management toolbox. See Create Vector Tile Package (Data Management) for more information.

Procedure

  1. Create the vector tile package.
    1. In the Map Manager application, create a new record.
    2. Choose Maximo Spatial for the map provider name, add a site, and then enable the MAF map component option.
    3. Add and configure a basemap.
    4. Save the map manager record and then enable the Enable Map option.
    5. From the Common Actions menu, click Configure Tile Package .
    6. In the Upload Offline Tile Packages window, expand the baseman row.
    7. In the Specify VTPK file section, click Browse.
    8. Select a .vtpk file from your local system and then click Open.
    9. Click OK.
      The package file is uploaded to Maximo Manage.
  2. Download the .vtpk file to your mobile device.
    1. On your mobile device, open the IBM Maximo Mobile application and log in.
    2. Open the Inspections application and then open the map that includes the areas that were selected for the .vtpk file.
    3. Tap Offline Area and then tap Vector Tile Packages.
    4. Select the map that you want and then tap the download icon to download the .vtpk file to your mobile device.
