Preventive maintenance lead time

Lead time is an amount of time that you specify on a preventive maintenance (PM) record so that work orders are generated in advance of their next due dates.

There are two types of lead time:

  • lead time that is added to a single top-level PM to allow advance time for gathering tools and materials.
  • slack time that is added to one or more PMs to allow generation of weekly or monthly batches of work orders.

The system adds lead time and slack time to the system date when determining whether a PM will generate a work order.
