Work validations

You can validate the work that your schedules and work lists include and troubleshoot the results.

Validation Warning/Error Solution
A task or work order with no children has 0 duration. W – 0 duration for planned work. Modify the value in Duration field.
Interruptible work has a specified shift that is not included in the schedule. W – The interruptible shift selected is not included in this schedule. Modify the value in the Interruptible field by using the Select Value icon.
The Start No Earlier Than date plus the duration is greater than or equal to the schedule end date. E – This work cannot be successfully scheduled with the current Start No Earlier Than date. Modify the Start No Earlier Than date.
The Finish No Later Than date minus the duration is less than or equal to the schedule start date. E – This work cannot be successfully scheduled with the current Finish No Later Than date. Modify the Finish No Later Than date.
The location assignment dates do not fall within the schedule dates. E – Location assignment exists outside of schedule dates. In the Work Order Tracking application, open the parent work record and change the assignment.
The location assignment is shorter than the parent work order duration. E – Location assignment is not long enough to complete all work in this work package. In the Work Order Tracking application, open the parent work record and change the assignment.
Bottom level work records and operations do not have planned resources (craft, crew type, tool) W – There are no required resources to determine schedule dates. In the Work Order Tracking application, adjust the planned labor.
Craft: A single work record or operation has a planned craft quantity greater than the available craft quantity on any shift E – Work cannot be scheduled without enough resources in a single shift. In the Work Order Tracking application, adjust the planned labor or the resources.
Crew Types: A single work record or operation has a planned crew type quantity greater than the available crew type quantity on any shift. E – Work cannot be scheduled without enough resources in a single shift. In the Work Order Tracking application, adjust the planned labor or the resources.
Rotating Tools: A single work record or operation has a planned tool quantity greater than the available tool quantity. E – Work cannot be scheduled without enough resources. In the Work Order Tracking application, adjust the planned labor or the resources.
Planned labor exists on the parent work order when planned labor also exists at the task level. W – Labor can be planned at the task or work record level, but not both. In the Work Order Tracking application, adjust the planned labor or the resources.
Duration is negative or over the threshold of 24*100 (quantity*duration). E – Duration is negative or unreasonably high. Modify the value in Duration field.
Task is missing a parent work record.

E – Tasks must have a parent work record.

In the Activities and Tasks application, add a parent work record.
Work record does not have a priority.

W – Work records must have a priority.

Modify the value in Priority field.
