Graphical Scheduling - Large Projects application
You use the Graphical Scheduling - Large Projects application to manage schedules that are too large for the Graphical Scheduling application.
The application is similar to the Graphical Scheduling application, with the following
enhancements in the graphical view to facilitate large project performance (schedules containing
10,000 or more records):
- Work records are loaded in pages, 50 records at a time. The pages are created on the server rather than fetching and updating all work records in the project at once. The status at the bottom of the graphical view indicates the total number of records, the number of pages, and the start and end dates of the schedule.
- Child work records are collapsed by default. They can be opened as needed.
- Work records that have dependencies that are not on the same data page have an icon that indicates a dependency. If the work has an incoming dependency (for example, start to finish), the icon is on the left of the work record. If the work record has an outgoing dependency (for example, finish to start), the icon is on the right. You can ALT+click on the icon for the details of the constraint.
- The resource section of the graphical view is collapsed by default. If you open the resource section, resource information displays that is specific to the zoom level of the graphical view. A refresh button becomes available when changes are made to the work. You can refresh as needed by clicking the icon. The resource view also refreshes every time that it is opened.
- Changes made in the graphical view are automatically saved back to the work records.
- Critical Path Methodology (CPM) functionality and optimization run on the entire project, and display for the current page of records.
- The filter, sorting, and search functions query the entire project. Quick sort is not available.
- PM forecasting is not supported.
