Picking and staging inventory

To help maximize efficient movement of inventory out of storage locations, you can add inventory pick lists and issue inventory by line or by batch. Optionally, you can specify intermediate staging locations. You can monitor list status as all lines move forward through the process.

To create a pick list, select one or more inventory reservations for a storeroom. You add pick lists for reservations on the Reservations page of the Manage Inventory Work Center. Complete any of the following tasks in pick lists:
  • Select multiple item reservations and add a pick list for them. Add more reservation lines to a list as needed.
  • Move list items through the different states of a pick list to indicate their position in the process. You can move list items to a Picked, Staged, or Issued state either by line or by batch. All inventory transactions have corresponding inventory usage documents.
  • Use scanning technology when you are managing inventory from a bin, lot, or rotating asset list.
  • Automatically select and split quantities between multiple bins, lots, or rotating assets to fulfill a needed inventory quantity, whether you are scanning or manually progressing inventory.
  • Return or restock inventory by line or by batch.
  • Review all state changes and transaction history for pick lists.
