Creating endpoints

You create an endpoint to identify a target location and the transport mechanism that the integration framework uses to publish data or to start a service.

Procedure

  1. In the End Points application, add an endpoint and specify an identifier for it.
  2. In the Handler field, select a value.
The handler's endpoint properties are displayed and the Consumed By field displays the information that is associated with the specified endpoint handler.
  3. In the Properties for End Point window, configure values for the endpoint properties that you need.
    1. If you configure a Password property, add an encrypted value to specify that the endpoint needs more security for storage and display.
    2. Optional: Select the Allow Override checkbox to identify properties that can be overwritten.
Select this checkbox when you use an invocation channel processing class.
  4. Optional: Test the endpoint by selecting Test, selecting a local test file, and selecting Test again.
  5. Save the endpoint.

What to do next

You can add a handler to specify how to route outbound data to a specific endpoint location in a specific format. You can use the endpoint in the following integration framework applications:

  • External Systems
  • Publish Channels
  • Invocation Channels
  • Integration Modules
  • Logical Management Operations
