Locating Linear features on the map from the Linear Visual table

You can locate a Linear feature for an asset on the map from the Linear Visual table.

Before you begin

The location function for Linear features in the product is available when you also have deployed Maximo® Spatial Asset Management, and you have selected Spatial as the map provider for the asset record.

Procedure

  1. Open the Assets application and select a Linear asset.
  2. Select any tab that includes Linear segment details, Specifications, Features, Relationships and Work, and then locate the Linear Visual table.
The location function is not accessible from the Linear Visual table located on the Map tab.
  3. Right-click a feature in the table and select Open map.
A new window displays the map at the location of the feature you selected, which is highlighted.

What to do next

You can also locate a Linear feature from the map tab of an application by opening Linear Visual Control tool on the map toolbar and selecting a feature from the list. Alternatively, you can open the Linear Visual Control tool on the map, select a linear feature on the map, and the feature will be highlighted in the Linear Visual Control tool.

The appearance of the feature highlight can be changed from the Map Symbology tab of the Map Manager application. Configure attributes of the lvcTargetMapLayer object to modify the color, thickness, and style of Linear feature highlights.
