Assignments overview

You use assignments to assign work to labor, crews, or repair facilities based on their skills and availability.

Assigning work
You use the Assignment view to assign upcoming work to labor and crews based on their availability.
Splitting work between people and shifts
You can split work into multiple assignments to complete the work as efficiently as possible. For example, if a job takes more time than anticipated, you can continue it into a second shift with another labor or crew resource.
Rescheduling assignments
In reviewing the weekly schedule for the organization, a maintenance planner sees that some work must be reassigned because of upcoming emergency work. The maintenance planner wants to leave a particular labor or crew resource available for the upcoming work.
Assigning emergency work
You can check for emergency work in your organization and assign the work as it comes in. You can assign the work to available resources automatically or manually.
Exporting assignment calendars
In the Graphical Assignment and Graphical Work Week applications, you can export the assignment calendars for resources to keep a separate record of them. You can download the resource calendars or send them in an email.
Resource availability for assignments
You use the Assignment view in the Graphical Assignment and Graphical Assignment - Repair Facility applications to assign work to available resources.
