Managing users and roles

In IBM® Maximo® Application Suite, entitlements and access levels are used to control user roles and general access to individual applications. As an application administrator, you use roles to control the aspects of Maximo Assist that users can access after they are granted an entitlement and access level for the application.

Apply one or more of the following roles to the user and then select the features within those roles that user can access:
  • Administrator: Select the features that an administrator can access, such as managing API keys.
  • User: Select the features that the user can access, such as Search and Collaborate.
    Note:

    Starting in Maximo Application Suite 9.0, the search function is no longer available in Maximo Assist. If search is enabled and you are upgrading to Maximo Application Suite 9.0, the search function is automatically removed during the upgrade.

  • Studio User: Select the features that the studio user can access, such as building diagnosis libraries and managing collaboration sessions.
