Resetting the electronic signature key

If users forget their electronic signature key or if the key is compromised, users can request a new electronic signature key from their administrator. Administrators can reset the key.

Before you begin

Before you reset a user's electronic signature key, ensure that you have completed all configurations that are required to designate the email address that sends the message and to configure the subject line and body text of the message.

About this task

Resetting the key sends an email to the user to notify them that their key is reset and to provide them with a new key. The key is randomly generated and has no expiration time limit. Users are not required to change the key after their first login. However, as a best practice, you can suggest to your users that they change the key after their initial login to make it more meaningful and easier to remember.

Procedure

  1. In the Users application, locate the user whose key you want to reset.
  2. From the More Actions menu, select Reset Esig Key.
  3. In the confirmation window, click OK.
An email is sent to the user with a new electronic signature key.
