Configuring Security Groups

This section describes the System Administrator tasks to configure security groups to control access for Maximo IT users to use Slack.

About this task

System Administrator can restrict or grant access to Maximo IT users to use ChatOps configuration. User will not have access to ChatOps Configuration if it is not enabled in the user security group.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Maximo IT and from the navigation bar, go to Security > Security Groups.
  2. In the Group column of the Security Groups application, select the groups to be granted access to the ChatOps Configuration. For example, the MAXEVERYONE group is for all Maximo users.
  3. Under the Applications tab, in the Description column, search ChatOps Configuration and click Grant Listed Options for This Application.
    Make sure that the checkbox for Read access to ChatOps Configuration and Save ChatOps Configuration are enabled.
  4. Save your changes.

What to do next

If you want to disable the options for ChatOps channel for the tickets (Incidents, Service Requests, and Problems), perform below tasks and update the security group for your Maximo IT user.
  1. In the Group column of the Security Groups application, select the security group of the user.
  2. Under the Applications tab, in the Description column, search and select Incidents, Service Requests, or Problems as necessary.
  3. Scroll down to the third panel, search for channel in the Description column, disable checkbox for Create ChatOps channel for the ticket, Assign ChatOps channel to the ticket, or Post the ticket on ChatOps channel as necessary.
  4. Save your changes.
