This topic describes the security groups that are defined for release
management . These security groups are aligned with the release management personas that are shipped
with IBM®
Tivoli® Unified Process Composer.
A security group typically consists of multiple users. An individual user can be
assigned to more than one security group, with one of the assigned groups designated as the primary
group. The primary group assignment determines which Start Center is open when a user logs on; users
who are assigned to multiple security groups can tab to the Start Centers for their secondary
groups. Users have permission to perform only those operations that are mapped to their security
group assignments.
The following table lists the built-in security groups and describes the operations
that can be performed by members of each group:
Security group |

|
Note: The Start Center for each role provides a link to the IBM
Tivoli Unified Process Composer documentation. The Release Deployer role is
associated with IBM
Tivoli Unified Process Composer version 2; the Deployment Specialist role is
associated with version 3.
Therefore, ensure that you use the Release Deployer security group if you are
using IBM
Tivoli Unified Process Composer version 2. Use the Deployment Specialist
group if you are using IBM
Tivoli Unified Process Composer version 3.
You determine which version to use when you install this product.
