Moving assets

You can move an asset from a non-inventory location to another non-inventory location or to a storeroom. You can move assets from your current site to another site within your organization, or to a site in a different organization.

About this task

When you move multiple assets, you might want to specify the same information for most or all of the assets. For example, you might want to specify the same location, or remove the parent for all assets that you are moving.

Procedure

  1. From the List tab, display the asset that you want to move.
  2. Select the Move/Modify Assets action.
  3. In the Move/Modify Assets window, click the Assets tab.
  4. To add assets, click Select More Assets.
  5. To move the assets, perform any of the following actions in the Mass Move section:
    Option Description
    To move the assets to a different site
    1. Specify a value in the To Site field, or click Detail Menu to retrieve a value. The site can be in the organization in which you logged in or a different organization.
    2. Next to the To Site field, click Apply. If the site to which you want to move the assets has an asset with the same identifier as one that you are moving, you must assign a different identifier for the asset you are moving. Every asset within a site must have a unique identifier.
    To move the assets to a different location
    1. Type a value in the To Location field, or click Detail Menu to retrieve a value.
    2. Next to the To Location field, click Apply.
    To move the assets to a different parent
    1. Type a value in the To Parent field, or click Detail Menu to retrieve a value.
    2. Next to the To Parent field, click Apply.
    To move all the assets to one parent
    1. Type a value in the To Parent field.
    2. Click Apply.
    3. Perform one of the following actions:
      • To perform the move immediately, click Execute Now.
      • To perform the move when the work order's status is COMP (Complete), click Save as Plan.
    To move the assets to a different bin
    1. Specify a value in the To Bin field, or click Detail Menu to retrieve a value.
    2. Next to the To Bin field, click Apply.
  6. Optional: You can edit any fields for individual assets.
  7. Click OK, then click Save.
