Installing Maximo Application Suite dependencies
Besides Red Hat OpenShift, there are more dependencies that must be installed before you can install and use IBM Maximo® Application Suite on IBM Cloud. Some dependencies are required to install IBM Maximo Application Suite itself and other additional dependencies are specific to some applications that can be installed through the Suite. You only install the application specific dependency if you plan to deploy the application that requires it.
For example, you are not required to install the Cloud Pak for Data dependency if you plan to install only IBM® Maximo Manage through IBM Maximo Application Suite and have no immediate plans to deploy other Suite applications that has Cloud Pak for Data as a requirement. For IBM Maximo Manage, while you could use the Db2 Warehouse service provisioned through Cloud Pak for Data to configure that application, you have the alternative of using the Db2 Warehouse database provisioned through its stand-alone operator that does not need to be installed along Cloud Pak for Data, as well as any other database option that is supported by Manage like Oracle, SQL Server and other Db2 databases that are provisioned outside of the Red Hat® OpenShift® cluster. Refer to the Prerequisite software section for more details.
The next sections will guide you through how to install the Maximo Application Suite required dependencies and the additional dependencies for applications that can be deployed through Maximo Application Suite, including steps to install alternatives such as the Db2 Warehouse stand-alone operator.
