AppPoints for Maximo Application Suite as a Service
When you subscribe to Maximo Application Suite as a Service, you purchase AppPoints to install and use applications.
AppPoints are deducted permanently from your subscription when Maximo Application Suite as a Service is installed and also when the suite applications, such as Maximo Manage or Maximo Monitor, are deployed.

Application access in Maximo Application Suite as a Service
The cost and the amount of AppPoints that are deducted for using suite applications varies. For some applications, AppPoints cost is based on the number of users that use the application and the cost of other applications is based on operational tasks. Specific AppPoints cost for each application is available in the suite catalog on the Suite administration page.
- Maximo Manage
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Manage is based on entitlement and access levels for concurrent users and authorized users. For more information, see Maximo Manage entitlement and access in Maximo Application Suite as a Service
- Maximo Monitor
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Monitor is based on I/O points and KPI points.
- Maximo Health
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Health is based on the number of concurrent users and authorized users, and scores.
- Maximo Predict
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Predict is based on models that are trained and the number of predictions that are made.
- Maximo Assist
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Assist is based on the number of concurrent users and authorized users.
- Maximo Visual Inspection
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Visual Inspection is based on models that are trained and the number of videos and images that are inferred.
- Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities
- AppPoints cost in Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities is based on models that are trained and scores.
Maximo Manage entitlement and access in Maximo Application Suite as a Service
Entitlement and access levels are used to control user roles and general access to individual applications, industry solutions, and add-ons in Maximo Manage. To give users initial access to Maximo Manage, you specify application entitlements and access in the Users section on the Suite administration page.
If you select concurrent entitlements, the AppPoints are deducted for the previous hour that a user uses Maximo Manage. If you select authorized entitlements, AppPoints are permanently reserved for the user.
- Self-service
- Self-service entitlements use 0 AppPoints and include access to the Maximo Manage self-service applications.
- Limited concurrent
- Limited concurrent entitlements use 5 AppPoints and include access to three Maximo Manage, industry solution, or add-on modules.
- Limited authorized
- Limited authorized entitlements use 2 AppPoints and include access to three Maximo Manage, industry solution, or add-on modules in Maximo Manage.
- Base concurrent
- Base concurrent entitlements use 10 AppPoints and include access to four or more Maximo Manage modules, including the Planning and Scheduling module.
- Base authorized
- Base concurrent entitlements use 3 AppPoints and include access to four or more Maximo Manage modules, including the Planning and Scheduling module.
- Premium concurrent
- Premium concurrent entitlements use 15 AppPoints and include access to four or more Maximo Manage, industry solutions, or add-on modules.
- Premium authorized
- Premium authorized entitlements use 5 AppPoints and include access to four or more Maximo Manage, industry solutions, or add-on modules.
After users are granted an entitlement and access level, you can use security groups to control the aspects of Maximo Manage that users can access. Permissions for security groups are set in Maximo Manage. The entitlement for the user might change to meet the access requirements.
