Integrating another Maximo system with Maximo Monitor

If you deployed Maximo Health without Maximo Manage and then integrated with a Maximo 7.6.1.1 or 7.6.1.2 system, you can complete the following procedure to integrate Maximo Health, Maximo Predict, and Health and Predict - Utilities with Maximo Monitor.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the instances of the MXAPIASSET or MXAPILOCATION object structures for Maximo Health, Maximo Predict, or Health and Predict - Utilities support flat files and have no alias conflicts.
  2. Ensure that you have the latest interim fix for your other Maximo system and the latest interim fix for Maximo integration framework
  3. Configure the Maximo Monitor certificate. For production environments, use a trusted public certificate. The steps to configure the certificate depend on the application server for the integrated Maximo system.
    • If the application server is IBM® WebSphere® Application Server, complete the following steps:
      1. In WebSphere Application Server, in the navigation pane, expand Security and then click SSL certificate and key management.
      2. In the Related items section, click Key stores and certificates.
      3. Open the CellDefaultTrustStore resource.
      4. In the Additional properties section, click Signer certificates.
      5. Click Retrieve from port.
      6. In the Host field, specify the URL for Maximo Monitor. Ensure that you include the domain and workspace ID, for example, https://workspace ID.monitor.domain.com.
      7. In the Port field, specify the port for Maximo Monitor.
      8. In the Alias field, specify an alias for Maximo Monitor. The alias can be any value.
      9. Click Retrieve signer information.
      10. Restart the application server.
    • If the application server is Oracle WebLogic Server or another server, complete the following steps:
      1. Retrieve the Maximo Monitor certificate.
        1. As an administrator, log in to the Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform web console and from the Maximo Monitor cluster dashboard, in the navigation menu, click Workloads > Secrets.
        2. From the Project field, open the Maximo Monitor project.
        3. In the Data section, copy the value that is in the ca.crt field.
        4. Paste the value into a .txt file and then save the file as ca.crt.
      2. Import the certificate into the application server. For more information, see the product documentation for your application server.
  4. Complete the steps for Connecting with Maximo Asset Monitor.

What to do next

If you used a self-signed certificate, you must complete some additional steps. For more information, see IBM Support.

You also must configure the IoT historian cron task. For more information, see Configuring the IoT historian cron task. The cron task can use a Java™ Messaging Service (JMS) or Apache Kafka queue.
