Revising the version of a data sheet

Changes to data sheets are saved by using revision control. Revision control maintains a historical record of the changes to data sheet values, which can be used to troubleshoot calibration issues with assets.

About this task

You can revise only the data sheets that are in approved status.

The revision numbers of data sheets increment by 1.

You can view the revision history of a data sheet from the Select Action menu.

Work orders that the data sheet is attached to are not automatically updated.

When the status of the revised data sheet is set to Approved, the status of the previous data sheet is set to Revised. The revised data sheet cannot be edited or reopened.

Job plans that are associated with the data sheet are automatically updated to the revised version.

Procedure

  1. In the Data Sheet Template application, select the data sheet that you want to revise.
  2. From the Select Action menu, select Revise Data Sheet.
  3. Enter a revision description and click OK.
The status of the data sheet is set to Pending Revision.
  4. Update the data sheet for this revision and save the changes.

What to do next

You can change the status of the revised data sheet to either Waiting on Approval or Approved.
