Safety plans overview

A safety plan includes all the information needed to safely perform a specific type of work or job plan. To create a safety plan, you need to understand the relationship between its work assets and locations, related assets and locations, and all related hazards, hazardous materials, precautions, and tag out procedures.

Before you create a safety plan, consider the following:
  1. Have a specific job in mind that requires a safety plan.
  2. List the work assets and locations on which a job plan might use this safety plan. When you create a safety plan, the work asset combined with the type of work dictates the safety information that is required.
  3. Understand how hazards relate to the work assets.
  4. List all related assets and locations that might cause hazards or other safety problems when a job plan is used. You create this asset list on the Safety-Related Assets subtab, which is on the Safety tab in the Assets application and the Locations application.
