Inventory counting

In the new Inventory Counting function, storeroom clerks can use count books, ad hoc counts, and reconciliation to ensure valid inventory balances.

Work orders

Supervisors can specify relationships between work orders and tasks so that only when a task is completed, the next task in the flow can be started. The sequence can be defined in a work template at the job plan level.

Safety

Safety plan information, including hazards and precautions, is now included on the work order so that technicians can review the details and be fully prepared for their work.

Defects

IBM® Maximo Civil Infrastructure customers can use the new Defects function to create defects and attach photos that can be automatically analyzed to detect anomalies. You can create defects from the new Defects function or from an inspection record. For more information, see Creating defects.

Inspection forms

  • In the Manage Inspection Forms tool, inspection supervisors can add validation rules for numeric fields. For example, a supervisor might specify that the number the inspector enters must be within a range, and if the entered value is outside of the range, the value is rejected.
  • Inspection supervisors can now link from an existing domain to a single choice field or a multiple choice field. Supervisors configure the link in the Manage Inspections Forms tool. When a supervisor creates an inspection form, they choose Lookup Domain Value - Single Choice or Lookup Domain Value - Multiple Choice as the response type. An inspector can then complete the field by selecting values from a list.

Inspections

  • Inspectors can now complete hands-free inspections on their mobile device. The inspection form is read aloud, and verbal responses are recorded on the form. For more information, see Enabling voice inspections.
  • When unexpected work arises, inspectors can now create unscheduled inspections to track work.
  • When GPS is enabled on their mobile device, the geographical location is saved every time that an inspector updates a field in the inspection form. This feature is controlled by the mxe.mobile.inspection.features.savegeolocation system property.
