Updating associated preventive maintenance

You can modify schedules and job plans on a master PM and apply the changes to all the associated PMs.

About this task

In the Preventive Maintenance application, if an associated PM has the Override Updates from Master PM check box selected, the master PM does not affect its schedule.

Procedure

  1. In the Master PM application, display the master PM whose associated PMs you want to update.
  2. On the Frequency tab, change the master scheduling information about the PM.
  3. Review the information in the Work Order Generation Information area.
    The fields correspond to information that the master PM updates on the associated PMs.
  4. Optional: Select the Update Existing PMs check box to update the Extended Date field of the associated PMs.
  5. On the Time Based Frequency and Meter Based Frequency subtabs of the Frequency tab, ensure that the following check boxes are selected to update the appropriate frequency information:
    • For time-based master PMs, ensure that the Update Time Based Information in Existing PMs check box is selected. The Frequency, Frequency Units, and Alert Lead (Days) fields on the associated PMs are updated when you update associated PMs.
    • For meter-based master PMs, ensure that the Update Meter Based Information in Existing PMs check box is selected. The Frequency, Alert Lead, and Generate WO Ahead By fields are updated on the associated PMs when you update associated PMs.
  6. On the Seasonal Dates tab, change the active days, dates, or both. To update seasonal dates on the associated PMs, select the Update Existing PMs Seasonal Dates check box.
  7. On the Job Plan Sequence tab, change the job plan information. To update job plan sequences on the associated PMs, select the Update Job Plan Sequence in Existing PMs check box.
  8. Save the master PM.
  9. Select the Update Associated PMs action.
  10. Select the check box for each site that you want to update associated PMs.
  11. Click OK.
