Applying item assembly structures to rotating items

When you receive rotating items, you can apply an item assembly structure to each item.

Procedure

  1. From the List tab of the Receiving application, select the purchase order for which you would like to receive rotating items.
  2. Click the Material Receipts tab and select the Receive Rotating Items action.
  3. In the Receive Rotating Items window, click Apply IAS in the row of the asset to which you want to apply an item assembly structure.
  4. In the Apply Item Assembly table window, the first level of the item assembly structure for that asset is listed. To assign an asset number to each asset in the subassembly, click the row for that asset and perform one of the following actions:
    • In the Asset field, specify a value.
    • Click Autonumber All to have asset numbers assigned to each asset. Asset numbers are assigned to the items in the first level of the hierarchy, and all of the child items.
  5. Click Detail Menu in the Item field for the selected item and select Move To to move down to the next level in the item assembly structure hierarchy.
    The item is moved to the Current Asset field, and its child items display in the table.
  6. If you manually entered values for the top level items in the item assembly structure, you can either autonumber the items in the lower levels of the hierarchy or assign values to each item individually.
    To move back up the hierarchy, in the Belongs To field, click Detail Menu and select Move To. The parent moves up to the Current Asset field, and its child items display in the table.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Save Receipt.
