Changing my default information

You can customize several aspects of working with the system that are specific to your user. You can specify the application that opens when you log onto the system, the records that display when you open an application, and the values that are inserted by default on records that you create.

Procedure

  1. From the toolbar, click Profile and select Default Information.
  2. In the Default Information window, edit the following fields as needed:

    Default Insert Site Specify the site from which you most often insert records. When you insert a record, if the Site field is not determined by some other relationship, the system enters the site you specified as the default value. Similarly, if an Organization field is not determined by some other relationship, the system enters the Organization owning this site in the field.
    Use Default Insert Site as a Display Filter? Select this check box to ensure that the system displays records for only the default insert site. If the application is defined at the organization-level, the system displays the records for the organization to which the site belongs. You can clear the check box in applications where you can view records for all the sites for which you have access.
    Use Side Navigation? Select this check box to move the queries, Select Action options, and toolbar actions to a navigation menu on the side of the UI. On the Start Center, the side navigation menu shows the items that are typically in the Go To menu.
    Storeroom Site for Self-Service Requisitions Specify the site and storeroom from which you most often request material. When you create a material requisition in a self service application and the site is not determined by another relationship, the system inserts this site and the default storeroom.
    Default Storeroom for Self-Service Requisitions Specify the storeroom from which you most often request material. You can enter a value for the storeroom site only, but if you specify a default storeroom, you must also specify the storeroom site.
    User Default Application Specify the application that displays when you log on to the system.
    Language Specify the language in which you want to use the system.
    Locale Specify a locale and use this field to configure several system settings such as the currency and date formats.
    Calendar Type Specify the calendar that you use such as Gregorian or Islamic.
    Time Zone Specify the time zone where you are based.
    Default Repair Facility Specify the location that is the default repair facility.
    Repair Facility Site Specify the site where the default repair facility is located.
  3. Click OK.
