IBM Automatic Data Lineage Implementation Quick Start Guide
Pre-Install System Checks
-
Automatic Data Lineage supported version/distribution of Java is installed on the host machine — the distributions tested by Manta are OpenJDK and Oracle. (IBM distribution of Java is not supported by current versions of Automatic Data Lineage.)
-
A user with root/admin privileges will be available to run/execute the Automatic Data Lineage installer.
-
A directory for Automatic Data Lineage to be installed in has been provisioned with the correct storage amounts. By default, Automatic Data Lineage is installed in the /opt/mantaflow/ directory for Linux and C:\mantaflow\ folder on Windows. (It is preferable to install Automatic Data Lineage on an XFS file system for Linux.)
-
The ports Automatic Data Lineage utilizes have been opened and are available for use. Automatic Data Lineage uses ports
8080
,8181
, and9090
by default but can be configured to use any available ports on the host machine. -
If HTTPS is desired:

The HTTPS ports have been opened and are available for use. (Automatic Data Lineage can be configured to use any available ports on the host machine.)
-
The
SSL/TLS
cert has been generated and placed on the host server.
-
-
The Automatic Data Lineage installation media has been copied to the host machine.
-
Up to and including R42.6: The Automatic Data Lineage license.key file has been copied to the host machine.
As of R42.7: the license.key file is not needed anymore.
Post-Install System Configurations
-
Update the Keycloak configuration files to reflect the appropriate
"auth-server-url"
property value, which tells the Automatic Data Lineage system where the Keycloak server is available: Manta Keycloak Integration.- Review the Keycloak networking examples guide to confirm that the Keycloak config files have been properly setup for your Manta architecture: Networking Setup Examples R38+.
-
Update the available memory for the Automatic Data Lineage system to utilize: Manta Flow Memory Settings.
