Application Level lineage
Short description and motivation
Application Level lineage is a high-level view that allows the user to show only the level of resources or one level deeper containing connections.
Possible use-cases:
-
show me a full architectural map on one screen
-
show me all the applications and integrations on one screen
-
show me all dependent applications to a selected application on one screen (integration level, high level)
How to use it
Navigate to the Flow Server’s home page and select the Application Level layer in the layer selector dropdown.
Once this layer is selected, it’s possible to visualize data without selecting any nodes. Finally, select “Application Level Lineage” in the visualization settings panel and visualize the data.
In the visualization page, you’ll see that all the nodes are displayed on a resource level. You can expand the resource nodes one level deeper, to the connection level. You can also change the detail level to the connection level for each node by selecting a higher level of detail in the option panel.
How to zoom in to column level
Currently, the only way of going to the column level is by going back to the home screen, selecting the Physical layer, setting all the necessary configurations, and visualizing it again.
