SAS

SAS is a statistical software suite used for data analysis and business intelligence. It also contains its own programming language, which IBM Automatic Data Lineage focuses on. Automatic Data Lineage can analyze SAS code along with SAS macros and visualize the flows described in them.

Automatic Data Lineage currently scans:

Extraction and Analysis Phase Scenarios

Extraction Phase

For the extraction phase for SAS, there is only one scenario.

  1. SAS extractor scenario — technical scenario required by Automatic Data Lineage; it extracts the macro definitions for each configured SAS connection from the user-provided SAS scripts

  2. SAS ingestion scenario - pulls inputs from git Manta Flow Agent Configuration for Extraction:Git Source or a remote agent filesystem location Manta Flow Agent Configuration for Extraction:Agent Source

Analysis Phase

For the analysis phase for SAS models, there is only one scenario.

  1. SAS dataflow scenario — analyzes metadata from the provided SAS models and and saves it in your Automatic Data Lineage metadata repository.
