SAP BusinessObjects is a reporting and visualization platform. The platform provides tools for reporting, analysis, data visualization, analytics applications, and office integration.

IBM Automatic Data Lineage SAP BO scanner processes report and universe specifications retrieved from the SAP BO server. Using the extracted information and cooperating with other scanners, Automatic Data Lineage can create complete end-to-end data lineage from database data sources through to universes and report elements.

Automatic Data Lineage currently scans:

Extraction and Analysis Phase Scenarios

Extraction Phase

For the extraction phase for SAP BO, there is only one scenario.

1. SAP BO extractor scenario — connects to each configured SAP BO server and extracts the configured projects and their objects

2. SAP BO ingestion scenario - pulls inputs from git Manta Flow Agent Configuration for Extraction:Git Source or a remote agent filesystem location Manta Flow Agent Configuration for Extraction:Agent Source

Analysis Phase

For the analysis phase for SAP BO models, there is only one scenario.

1. SAP BO dataflow scenario — analyzes metadata from the provided SAP BO models and and saves it in your Automatic Data Lineage metadata repository.
