Specifying restrictions for user groups

You can restrict the access of users to objects, related records, and models, by setting restrictions for user groups based on the user group type or advanced attributes.

Before you begin

You need to restrict access based on an attribute or to restrict access to models. Then, the Security Restriction checkbox for the attribute or model must be selected in the Advanced Attributes Setup (CM) application.

Procedure

  1. In the Security Groups (CM) application and on the List tab, select a user group.
  2. On the Advanced Data Restrictions tab, in the Advanced Attribute Restrictions table, specify attributes and values to allow the user group access to objects with these attributes and values.
  3. In the Allowed Values table, specify the values that are allowed for the attribute.
  4. In the Model Restrictions table, specify the models that the user group can access.
  5. Save the user group.
