Configuring policy settings for tvOS devices

You can configure the policy settings for tvOS devices by using the Import MobileConfig settings.

About this task

Use the Import MobileConfig settings to import custom tvOS configuration profiles (.mobileconfig files) and deploy the tvOS configuration files to tvOS devices.

The configuration profile (.mobileconfig) files are XML files that contain custom settings and payloads for tvOS devices. You can deploy most of the settings and restrictions quickly by using the MaaS360® security policies. You can use configuration profiles for custom implementations.

Note:
  • Use the Apple Configurator or Profile Manager to create configuration profiles before you import the files into MaaS360. For more information about creating profiles in Apple Configurator, see Apple Configurator User Guide.
  • If the Import MobileConfig setting is not enabled for your MaaS360 account, contact IBM® Support.

Procedure

  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, select Security > Policies and then open an iOS MDM policy.
  2. Click Advanced > Import MobileConfig.
  3. Click Add New to add the .mobileconfig file.
    Notes:
    • The file must not contain a DOCTYPE declaration.
    • You can use the plus sign (+) icon to add multiple configuration files.
  4. Select the configuration file that you want to deploy, and then click Save and Publish.
