LDAP

Use the LDAP settings to allow users to synchronize contacts with the corporate LDAP server.

The following table describes the settings that are required to configure an LDAP server on macOS devices:
Policy setting Description
Hostname The host name of the LDAP server.
Description The description of the LDAP account.
Enable SSL Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is used to communicate with the server.
Username The user name of the LDAP account. Use a static user name if you use a generic credential for all users. Use the %username% variable to allow users to use corporate credentials.
Password The password of the LDAP account.

Search Configuration

Policy Setting Description
Scope

The recursion that is used in the search.

  • Base: The immediate node pointed to by the LDAP search base.
  • One level: The node plus its immediate children.
  • Subtree: The node plus all children, regardless of depth.
Search Base The path to the node where a search should start. For example, ou=users o=organization corp.
