App Compliance

Use the App Compliance settings to configure app compliance restrictions, App Store and Game Center settings, and folder restrictions for apps on macOS devices.

App Store and Game Center

The following table describes the App Store and Game Center restrictions:
Policy setting Description
Allow App Store App Adoption The apps that are shipped with Mac are adopted by the Mac App Store for future updates. The default is off.
Allow App Store for Updates The App Store is restricted to software updates only.
Allow use of Game Center Game Center is enabled for the device user.
Allow non Admin Users to Install Apps Users who are non-administrators can install applications on the device from the App Store. This setting is supported for macOS 10.9+ devices.

If this setting is disabled, non-administrator users are prompted to enter administrator credentials if they try to install apps from the App Store.

Allow Software Update Notifications An alert is displayed on the device for software updates. This setting is supported for macOS 10.10+ devices.
Allow Multiplayer Gaming Multi-player gaming is enabled for the device user.
Allow adding Game Center Friends You can add Game Center friends to the device.
Allow Game Center Account Modifications You can modify the Game Center account settings for a device.

App Compliance

The following table describes the app compliance restrictions:
Policy setting Description
Restricted Apps The comma-separated bundle IDs of restricted apps. If the restricted apps are installed, the devices are marked out-of-compliance.
Required Apps The comma-separated bundle IDs of required apps. If the required apps are not installed, the devices are marked out-of-compliance.

Folder Restrictions

The following table describes the folder restrictions:
Policy setting Description
Allowed Folders for Apps The comma-separated paths of the folders where you can launch apps.
Disallowed Folders for Apps The comma-separated paths of the folders where you cannot launch apps.
