Associating users with bulk enrolled Windows 10+ devices

You can use the Associate Users setting to assign a device that is enrolled with the Windows 10+ Bulk Provisioning Tool to a specific user.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that the bulk enrollment process with the Windows 10+ Bulk Provisioning Tool is complete.
  • Before you assign a device to a specific user, make sure that the device records are visible in the MaaS360® Portal.

Procedure

  1. From the MaaS360 Portal Home page, select Setup > Settings > Directory and Enrollment > Enrollment Programs > Windows > Windows 10+ Bulk Provisioning Tool.
Alternatively, you can configure the Windows 10+ Bulk Provisioning Tool from Devices > Enrollments > Other Enrollment Options > Windows 10+ Bulk Provisioning Tool.

  2. From the Associate Users tab, download the sample bulk upload file. Use the sample bulk upload file and specify the devices that you want mapped to users based on the device host name.
  3. In the bulk upload file, provide the corporate user name, domain, corporate email address, country code, phone number, platform, policy set, rule set, expense plan, device name, and any comments.
The details that you provide are associated with the specific user of the device. You can leave the expense plan field blank.

In the bulk upload file, provide the Windows 10+ devices that are provisioned from the Bulk Provisioning Tool.

  4. Browse for and then upload the bulk upload file by clicking Upload.

Results

The bulk upload file is uploaded to Windows 10+ devices for user association. When user association is complete, an email message is sent to both the administrator and to device users that the device is assigned to a user account.

Note: After you upload the bulk file, the user association process takes about 30 minutes to complete on devices. The policy set, rule set, expense plan, apps that are associated with the user account, and other user details are updated on the device by using information from the uploaded .CSV file.
