Distributing OS patches and app updates to devices by Source Category

The Source Category column on the OS Patches page or App Updates page provides detailed information about the types of OS patches and app updates that administrators can distribute to devices.

Patch categories

The Source Category column includes configuration updates, security patches, or feature packs. Administrators can filter patches based on the following categories.

Note:
  • Administrators cannot push a Workaround patch and an Undo Workaround patch for the same patch.
  • Administrators must carefully read configuration patch categories. You cannot enable a Configuration patch and disable a Configuration patch at the same time.

To filter OS patches and app updates based on the Source Category type, click the Source Category column, and then select one or more category types.

Source Category display in the Device view

For the Missing OS Patches workflow and the Missing App Updates workflow, the Source Category column is displayed separately in the Device view. Administrators can filter categories by OS patch name or app updates.
