Submitting apps for approval (App Approval workflow)

After you add an app, you can submit the app for approval before you promote the app to the App Catalog.

The approval process allows you to set up quality standards and guidelines for the App Catalog. All apps must pass predefined legal, security, and compliance checks before the apps are promoted to the App Catalog.

The app approval process involves the following multiple stages:

• An app developer or IT sets up a predefined process for each app type to determine who approves the app at each stage of the approval process.
• The app is approved by an app approver at each stage of the approval process.
• The approvers receive a notification when they must approve the app.
• If the app is approved at the final stage of the app approval process, the app is available to IT and is promoted to the App Catalog.
